SWACHH BHARAT Summer Internship Commenced At Mata Gujri College
Swachh Bharat Summer internship under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Ministry, Government of India inaugurated at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. Fifty-three Students of different departments of the college voluntarily registered under this internship. Director-Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh while inaugurating the internship said that students can contribute for clean society under this internship. He emphasized that cleanliness in the life and society is the need of hour and such programmes may bring positive change in the life of people. The internship was inaugurated by honoring Safai Sewaks of the college. Prof Anupreet Singh Tiwana, Head, Department of Geography said that students will start cleanliness drive and activities after conducting survey of five villages of the district including Panjoli Kalan, Bhaironpur, Dhunda, Jakhwali and Sidwan. The main objective of this program of the government of India is to motivate rural society for cleanliness and healthy life. People will be made aware about preservation of environment, need of cleanliness and health problems through Nukkad Natak, Rallies, Skits, Short films and Lecture by experts during this internship. Quiz, Essay Writing, Speech and Slogan Making competitions regarding Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will be conducted for students. Professor Bikramjit Singh Sandhu, Dean Academics while delivering special lecture said that students’ personality development should be of such kind which could bring mental as well as material cleanliness in the society.Prof. Jupinder Singh, Prof. Taranpreet Kaur, Dr.Dilip Singh, Dr. Satnam Singh, Prof. Joga Singh, Prof. Harsimran Singh, Dr. Inderjit Singh, Prof. Avneet Kaur and large number of students were present on this occasion.
