Annual Prize Distribution- 23rd March 2019 : In the Annual Prize Distribution Function held at Mata Gujri College 456 students were honored. S. Avtar Singh Sampla- Secretary of Education of SGPC was the chief guest of the event.
Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh read the Annual Report of the college while welcoming the guests and also told them about the achievements of the college in the field of academic, sports and cultural co-curricular activities. He also expressed his pleasure in announcing that the college was recently conferred the status of 'Star College' by the Biotechnology Department of the Government of India, given 'A' grade by the NAAC and also, it has achieved the status of First Autonomous College due to its good functioning.
The chief guest of the event, S. Avtar Singh Sampla, while honoring the achievers said that, " Because of its achievements, Mata Gujri College has a distinguished recognition in the educational institutions of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The students should dream with their eyes open and to fulfill them, they should continously work hard. Students should also participate in religious activities along with the academics." He also congratulated the students and wished them a good future.
In this Prize Distribution function, Roll of Honor was given to 35 students, College Color to 52 students and Merit Certificates to 190 students in the field of academics. In the field of sports, 12 students were given Roll of Honor, 44 were given College Color, and 16 were given Merit Certificates. For the cultural and other co- curricular activities, Roll of Honor was awarded to 15 students and College Color was awarded to 35 students. For N.C.C. and N.S.S, 12 students got Roll of Honor, 6 students got College Color and 2 were given Merit Certificates. In addition to this, 6 student- editors were also honored and 27 students were awarded with scholarships.
During this event, Dr. Bikramjit Singh Sandhu, Examination Controller and Dean Commerce Department handled the stage. Dr. Rajinder Kaur - Vice Principal presented the vote of thanks. The college Registrar- Prof. Navjeet Kaur, Vice Principal Dr. Harveen Kaur, Dean Academic Prof. Namita Beri, S. Pritam Singh, S. Gurdarshan Singh, staff members and students were also present during this function.
