MEDIA FEST ‘SAHAAFAT-2018’- 19th April,2018
Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh sahib organized its annual Media Fest ‘Sahaafat-2018’. S. Amarjeet Singh Waraich, Station Director, AIR, Patiala presided over the day.
Students of the Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication presented their short films and documentaries related to historical, ethical and social issues.
S. Amarjeet Singh Wraich shared his valuable experiences with the students. He encouraged the students to enrich their vocabulary and pronunciation to be a good radio presenter. He also motivated the students to read books instead of spending time on social sites.
Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh appreciated the efforts of the students and said that media can bring positive change in our society. He inspired the students to be ethical and energetic in the field of Journalism.
Debate and Declamation Fest- 11, April, 2018
Political Science Department of Mata Gujri College Organized Debate and Declamation Fest. This function was presided over by Director-Principal, Dr. Kashmir Singh and Dr. Surmukh Singh, Former Head of Political Science Department was invited as special guest. More than 70 students participated in this Fest. The students expressed their views on the following topics of declamation; The pros and cons of GST, Issue of Student’ Election: Doubts and Possibilities, Is there a need of Clean India or Tension Free India ? Debate competition on “One country, One election” was also organized and finally vote in favor of this issue was passed.
In the declamation contest , Parminder Kaur, Randhir Singh and Supreet Kaur bagged first, second and third positions. Taranpreet Singh and Lakhwinder Singh got consolation prizes. In the debate, Damanpreet Singh, Jasvir Singh and Atul Sagar got first, second and third positions respectively. Gurjeet Singh and Kiranvir Singh got consolation prizes.
Nukkad Natak ‘Dastak’ - 3rd Feb 2018
People’s Art group staged Nukkad Natak ‘Dastak’ at Mata Gujri College to spread social and cultural awareness among the youth. The actors in this play presented various issues like drugs epidemic, glorification of violence in songs and rise of crime in Punjab.

Teej Fest 2017
Mata Gujri College celebrated Teej Festival with great culture and aesthetic gaiety. Mrs. Kanwalpreet Brar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib was the Chief Guest while Mrs. Rajpal Kaur Sidhu, Senior Lecturer, DIET, Nabha was the special guest of the day that witnessed the rituals and traditional fervor.
On this occasion, Ms. Mandeep Kaur, winner of Sur Sirtaj made the audience spill bound with her colourful performance. She sung the hit numbers besides singing traditional songs and boliyan.
Girls wearing traditional and vibrant color dresses splashing the college campus with multicolored rainbow hues performed Punjabi traditional dance. Various competitions like swing, mehndi, kikli, preparing gulgule, malpude were also organised on this occasion, in which the students participated with great zeal and zest.
Debate, Elocution and Poetry recitation competition-7th September 2017
English literacy Society of P.G department of English organised Debate ,Elocution and Poetry recitation competitions in the college premises. 33 students from various departments of the college participated in all the three events .

Nukkad Natak- 4th November 2017
Media Association of Journalism & Mass Communication Department of Mata Gujri College organised Nukkad Natak 'Jai Pardushan'. Members of Red Arts Group presented the Nukkad Natak and highlighted the various aspects of pollution. They encouraged the students to indulge themselves in social activities.
